The study drug is a potential new treatment for Autoimmune Diseases, like Systemic Lupus Erythematosus.
The Cellular Study is investigating a new potential treatment for autoimmune diseases like lupus, where the immune system mistakenly attacks healthy cells. These conditions can affect various organs and tissues.
We are specifically seeking healthy volunteers to participate in this research. It’s estimated that around 20,000 Australians live with lupus, experiencing symptoms such as fevers, skin rashes, joint pain, and swelling.
These symptoms typically develop in individuals aged 15 to 45.
This is the first time the study drug is being administered to humans, so there may be unknown risks involved. However, this clinical trial has been carefully designed to minimize risks for participants.
Before you decide to participate, you will receive detailed information about the trial, including its risks and our mitigation strategies. You will also have an appointment with one of our doctors, who will be happy to answer any questions you may have.
The trial has been approved by an independent ethics committee and eligible participants will be reimbursed for their time.
