The study medication is a new potential treatment for Ulcerative Colitis. It is hoped that this medication can decrease the production of substances in the large intestine/ digestive system that are known to cause inflammation.

Ulcerative Colitis (UC) is like an internal sunburn in the digestive tract, specifically the large intestine. It causes pain, urgent bathroom trips, and bleeding. The exact cause involves genetic and environmental factors, along with an abnormal immune response. Normally, the immune system defends against harmful invaders. For people suffering with Ulcerative Colitis, the immune system mistakenly attacks good bacteria, leading to chronic inflammation and ulcers in the colon.

Participants will be compensated for their time in completing the study.

The trial has been approved by an independent ethics committee.
