The Formulation Study
The purpose of this study is to investigate a potential new treatment for alcohol dependence and opioid dependence.
The study is exploring a new potential treatment for alcohol dependence and opioid dependence and is a new formulation of an already existing drug called Vivitrol® (also known as naltrexone).
This new formulation would only need to be administered once a month. It is hoped to be as effective as naltrexone at smaller doses. This study will compare a single dose of the study drug with a single dose of the existing drug Vivitrol®
The trial has been approved by an independent ethics committee and eligible participants will be reimbursed for their time completing the study.
