The purpose of this study is to investigate a potential new treatment for hypertension (commonly known as high blood pressure).

The study drug can reduce the expression of a gene that can enhance the constriction of blood vessels. This could help to control blood pressure.

Eligibility

Biological Sex Male & Female volunteers with current and mild hypertension (systolic blood pressure between 135 and 165)
Age 18 - 72 years old
Weight Weigh more than 50kg
BMI 18 - 35 kg/m²
Medication Not taking any other medications (hormone replacement therapy, cholesterol medication, and antidepressants may be permitted on a case-by-case basis)
Medication Not currently taking and not planning to take antihypertensive medication during the study
Medical History No significant medical history
Smoking History Non-smokers only
