The Pain Relief Study is exploring a new potential treatment for acute pain. The study drug is a new, slow-release version of an already approved non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (painkiller) called ACUPAN®. Unlike the immediate-release version, this slow-release formulation is absorbed gradually, allowing patients to take the medication less frequently.
This study is important because existing painkillers often have significant drawbacks, such as limited effectiveness or potential for addiction (e.g., opioid painkillers like Oxycontin). There is a critical need for new and more effective pain relief medications, especially for those suffering from chronic pain or chronic illness.
The trial has been approved by an independent ethics committee, and eligible participants will be reimbursed for their time.
