The Smart Pill Study

This study is looking at a new administration method for an approved drug, which is currently being used to treat severe osteoporosis in patients who are at high risk for fracture or for patients who are intolerant to other osteoporosis therapies.

Osteoporosis is a condition that causes the bones to be weak and brittle. The purpose of this study is to study this drug when it is administered using a capsule. This is a new device that delivers medications orally rather than via injections.

The trial has been approved by an independent ethics committee and eligible participants will be reimbursed for their time.

Eligibility

Biological Sex Healthy females, and post menopausal/surgically sterile females
Age 18 - 65 years
BMI 19 - 32kg/m²
Medical History No significant medical history
Medications Not taking any medication (for post-menopausal women, stable doses of certain medications may be permitted)
Smoking History Non-smokers or casual smokers (max. 5 cigarettes per week)
